About Coach Mott

Born and raised in Stark County, Illinois, where I graduated high school in 2009, I am deeply rooted in this community. My journey has been enriched by my marriage to Becky Mott since July 2023 and the enduring legacy of my parents, Art Mott and the late Lori Swank. My life revolves around three guiding principles: Faith, Family, and Football. I'm currently advancing my education at Post University, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management with aspirations to become an Athletic Director, followed by a Master's in Physical Education from Concordia University.

My coaching career is a tapestry of diverse experiences, spanning roles as a WR Coach, OL Coach, Defensive Assistant Coach, and 8th Grade Head Coach. One of my career highlights was helping lead a team to the runner-up position in a 5A state championship. Football has been a part of my life since age 7. Despite being told I could never play, I was determined to coach. Starting as a high school student manager and assistant coach, I've grown to achieve notable successes. These include leading a team to the 1A playoffs in Iowa and playing a key role in a 5A State Runner-up team with a 12-2 record. My first year as an assistant coach at EPC marked a significant turnaround for the team, from a 3-6 record to playoff contenders, showcasing my strategic influence and dedication to the sport. I currently am coaching at Rio Rico High School in Arizona.
